Board-Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Fellowship-Trained in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine

About Dr. Zhang

Dr. Sharon Zhang is an interventional pain management physician at Comprehensive Spine Center of Dallas, specializing in spinal injections and non-surgical treatment of neck, back, and musculoskeletal pain. She is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine. Her focus is precise, image-guided care that helps patients reduce pain, restore function, and return to the activities that matter to them.

Dr. Zhang brings an uncommon depth of musculoskeletal experience to her practice. Before earning her medical degree, she earned a Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas and practiced as an associate chiropractor. That hands-on clinical background shapes how she evaluates patients, how she explains their condition, and how she builds treatment plans that go beyond symptom relief.

Education & Training

She earned her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed a transitional year internship at Detroit Medical Center–Sinai Grace Hospital. She then completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she was selected as Administrative Chief Resident. She completed fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine at The Spine and Sports Center / Houston Methodist in Houston, Texas. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University.

Research & Community

Dr. Zhang has contributed to research on cervical facet joint dysfunction and on nerve ablation before and after total knee replacement, and she has presented at professional medical conferences. During residency, she co-founded her department’s first resident wellness program.

Her community work includes volunteering at the JayDoc Free Clinic, providing sideline medical coverage for school athletic events, and performing sports physicals for middle and high school athletes.
